All-New Kia Niro Speaks To A New Audience

With a bold and stylish new design, all models, HEV, PHEV, and the EV line-up, are eligible for the Clean Car rebate. There are three new Niro models launched, priced from $40,990 + orc.

The all-new generation of Kia’s Niro range has launched with a wide-ranging suite of significant updates, including a specific focus on safety, aesthetics, design, and technology.

Niro is not only fun to drive, but also sustainable. You can choose to have more acceleration or maximize your charge range or fuel efficiency. Prices start at HEV Light ($40,990 + orc), HEV Earth ($45,990+ orc and 3 years’ service plan) and PHEV Light ($53,990 + orc). They also qualify for the clean car rebate HEV $3108.97 and PHEV $5750, and the EV range is $8625.

The all-new Niro’s front-end features the latest evolution of Kia’s signature Tiger Face, while the side profile combines clean character lines with a bold Aero C-Pillar. In many ways a baby EV6, the redesigned Niro range brings a whole new level of style and design excellence to the pioneering Niro nameplate. The new Niro Plus caters for the changing demands of modern consumers, all with the added appeal of a more accessible price point and dramatically increased cargo capacity and passenger space.

Fuel economy on the Hybrid Niro is 4.4L per 100Km, PHEV .08 per 100KM.

Recharging the Kia Niro EV from 10% to 80% takes just 45 minutes with a suitable 100kW DC rapid charger, an improvement compared with the previous model, and it now delivers a range of 460km (WLTP). Price start at EV Light at $67,990 +orc and Niro Plus EV Light $64,990 +orc and $8625 CC rebate.

The second-generation Niro offers a choice of eight expressive exterior colours across the range including Cityscape Green which is new to Kia’s colour pallet, Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Mineral Blue, Interstellar Grey, Runway Red, Steel Grey and Clear White, all sporting a gloss black lower cladding.

The GT-Line and Water trim in both HEV, PHEV and EV variants provide a high-tech panoramic high-definition digital display screen that integrates both the instrument cluster (10.25”) and infotainment features (+10.25”) in one streamlined package. The system has been designed to be easy to use with pin sharp graphics and a highly intuitive layout, enabling users to personalise, access and operate the vehicle’s connectivity, usability and functionality features with ease and confidence.

Tuned for roads Down Under

The all-new Kia Niro and EV6 has undergone an extensive local ride and handling program to ensure it is suitable for New Zealand’s unique road conditions and driving styles.
